Our Story
Integrated Environmental Restoration Services (IERS) was founded in 1995 by Michael Hogan in an attempt to develop a higher level of integration between scientific research and the application of erosion control and restoration techniques. Our primary goal has been to address the long-standing gap that exists between the research and application elements of disturbed site restoration in the Sierra Nevada and specifically in the Lake Tahoe region.
IERS has been built on a unique combination of elements including planning, implementation (through our contracting arm), monitoring, an active collaborative research program, and proactive facilitation and information sharing with clients, agencies and other interested entities. Since our inception, IERS has evolved into a recognized industry leader and pioneer in the development of a scientific and adaptive management process and in the implementation of highly successful restoration and erosion control projects. We have developed a robust set of research data and a long list of successfully implemented projects throughout the Sierra Nevada.
